Overview of Training Services
Career
Services of Austin provides vocational training and job placement
assistance for individuals ages 16 and above. Adult
training includes: individual self assessment, job seeking
skills training, occupational exploration/education option,
one-week job seeker’s training, job search strategies, employment
assistance and job coaching. “Building Bridges” for
ex-offenders training and services are based on a successful
National Institute of Corrections Training Program.
A special
program for at risk youth helps them identify their interests
and abilities, explore possible career matches, select their
career goal and plan their education or training to reach
that goal.
Recommendations
for the client and family may include: immediate job
search activities, referral to social service agencies for
additional services, referral to WorkSource Center Services,
or recommendations for further education and training needed
to reach employment goals or a combination of these activities.
